November arrives, and with it vinyl records as the support for creating collages. Seeking to move beyond the love stories traditionally associated with music, I decided to work around the concept of love itself.

“12 Months, 12 Rules” is the third annual edition of this project, which began in 2014. The title, in Spanish, means 12 meses, 12 pautas and is a readaptation of a TV slogan. Each year, the project focuses on an essential element; in 2014, this was reappropriation, which gave rise to the title.

Each month has a set of rules: one related to the format, and the others concerning the materials used, the theme, color, composition, and so on. Working on this kind of project forces me to explore the different dialogues that emerge within the language of collage. I create the rules a few days before the start of each month, and one unwritten rule is that the variables of each month must differ from those of the others.

Llega noviembre y, con él, el vinilo como soporte para realizar collage. Buscando ir más allá de las historias de amor asociadas tradicionalmente a la música, decidí trabajar en torno al concepto del amor.

“12 Meses, 12 Pautas” es la tercera edición anual de este proyecto, que comenzó en 2014. El título significa 12 meses, 12 pautas y es una readaptación de un eslogan televisivo. Cada año, el proyecto se centra en un elemento esencial; en 2014 fue la reapropiación, lo que dio origen al título.

Cada mes tiene un conjunto de reglas: una relacionada con el formato y las demás con el material utilizado, el tema, el color, la composición, etc. Trabajar en este tipo de proyecto me obliga a investigar los distintos diálogos que surgen en el lenguaje del collage. Creo las reglas unos días antes de comenzar cada mes, y una regla no escrita es que las variables de cada mes deben ser diferentes a las de los demás.
