March arrives with a single rule: to create each collage using only one color. This limitation shifts the focus toward texture, contrast, and composition, allowing color to become both structure and concept.

“12 Months, 12 Rules” is the third annual edition of this project, which began in 2014. The title, in Spanish, means 12 meses, 12 pautas and is a reinterpretation of a television slogan. Each year, the project revolves around an essential idea; in 2014, that idea was reappropriation, which gave rise to the title.

Each month is defined by a set of rules: one related to the format, and others concerning the material used, the theme, color, composition, and so on. Working under this framework pushes me to explore the different dialogues that emerge within the language of collage. I establish the rules a few days before the month begins, and one unwritten rule is that the variables of each month must differ from those of the others.

Marzo llega con una única regla: crear cada collage utilizando un solo color. Esta limitación desplaza la atención hacia la textura, el contraste y la composición, permitiendo que el color se convierta tanto en estructura como en concepto.

“12 Meses, 12 Pautas” es la tercera edición anual de este proyecto, iniciado en 2014. El título significa 12 meses, 12 pautas y es una reinterpretación de un eslogan televisivo. Cada año, el proyecto gira en torno a una idea esencial; en 2014 fue la reapropiación, de donde surge el título.

Cada mes se define por un conjunto de reglas: una relacionada con el formato y otras vinculadas al material utilizado, el tema, el color, la composición, etc. Trabajar bajo este marco me obliga a explorar los distintos diálogos que aparecen dentro del lenguaje del collage. Establezco las reglas unos días antes de comenzar el mes, y una norma no escrita es que las variables de cada mes sean diferentes a las de los demás.
