The idea of creating a daily collage had been on my mind for a long time—not focused on the technique itself, but on the daily aspect of the project. A year ago, a group of us decided to start this adventure: Los días contados. We used a calendar from Taschen as a starting point and would create collages from it, without pressure or set rhythms.

Although the project is collaborative—allowing one to see the different results and sensibilities from the same starting material—it highlights each participant’s individual approach. For me, it has become a way to measure time, integrating it into my daily routine, like having lunch or making my bed; in this way, art and life merge.

La idea de realizar un collage diario me perseguía desde hacía tiempo, no centrada en la técnica del collage, sino en el aspecto cotidiano del proyecto. Hace un año, un grupo de personas decidimos comenzar esta aventura: Los días contados. Tomamos un calendario de la editorial Taschen y, a partir de él, empezaríamos a hacer collages sin presiones ni ritmos de ningún tipo.

El proyecto, pese a ser colaborativo —donde es posible apreciar los distintos resultados y sensibilidades a partir del mismo material—, permite ver la apropiación individual de cada participante. Para mí se ha convertido en una manera de medir el tiempo, integrándolo en mi rutina diaria, como almorzar o hacer la cama; de esta forma, arte y vida se fusionan.
