Atemporal Land is a visual game built from two elements: an image placed over another. By layering one image on top of the other, parts of the underlying image are erased or hidden. It may seem like a simple gesture, but in doing so a new reality is created—a new photograph. The result is not a diptych; it is interpreted as a single, unified image.

The first element is a pocket calendar, a familiar and personal object—some belonged to my grandmother, others to me. These calendars, often containing landscapes, flowers, or religious imagery, carry the weight of memory and history. The second element comes from popular culture, usually a full-page image from a contemporary fashion magazine. By combining these two layers, the personal and intimate merges with the popular and superficial. Through my artistic gesture, these elements acquire new meanings, sometimes revealing aspects of character, sometimes creating visual tension or conceptual reflection.

I have my own habits, sometimes obsessive, which may explain why I have been creating a daily collage for three years. As a child, I collected various objects—sugar boxes, envelopes, papers, rocks—and although much has been discarded over time, some collections, like the pocket calendars, have endured.

Pocket calendars became an obsessive collection over the years. When the internet appeared, the practice of collecting faded, but I kept these objects, and now they serve as material for this series. I enjoy the ephemeral nature of these calendars, and the tension between obsolescence and the polished, contemporary images from magazines.
